Maya is a multi-faceted artist and writer working in New York.
Her first art teacher was her father whom she turned to for honest critiques of her work.
For over a decade, she worked as a makeup artist in the beauty industry and learned how to mix color on countless faces which she later realized was a crucial learning experience for mixing colors for portraiture.
On 11/11/11 she was accepted into her first group exhibition in Brooklyn. Group exhibits over the years included UCONN, Stepping Stones Children's Museum, CW Post, Nassau Comptroller's Building and East End Arts Gallery. She now focuses on whatever most energizes her; whether its the beauty of realistic charcoal drawings or her perspective of a stunning landscape in pastels, the art of the utmost importance is that which energizes and stimulates the senses and the soul.
